Better Ways to Pick a Good Book and Reading Suggestions

Good morning, Live Better than a Billionaire-a-Holics!

Are you feeling motivated this morning? I certainly hope so. I know that I am!

The average American reads one book a year.

Look at The New York Times best seller list over time, and you'll see what people are buying. See http://www.nytimes.com/pages/books/bestseller/

But only a fraction of what is bought is ever read. Why?

Most books don't appeal to their readers!

What should that one book be?

That's a question I'm asked all the time as Amazon.com's leading reviewer of non-fiction books.

What's my answer?

Read a non-fiction book that will improve many aspects of your life.

In fact, many successful people never read fiction. They view their time as too precious to waste on fiction.

Naturally, each person needs something different to improve many aspects of life.

Here's a short list to help you focus:

1. The Bible -- No other book contains as much wisdom, practical advice and inspiration.

2. The Essential Drucker -- Excerpts from 10 of Peter Drucker's books on for-profit management that will help you improve your enterprise if you are in business. See http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/006093574X/104-5889592-2919129?v=glance&n=283155&%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance

3. Relationship Rescue and Relationship Rescue Workbook -- These books will give you the edge in smoothing out problems with your family and loved ones. See http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/078688598X/104-5889592-2919129?v=glance&n=283155&s=books&v=glance

4. The South Beach Diet -- Using this diet will lower your weight, improve your energy and help you avoid diseases associated with overweight people. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1579546463/104-5889592-2919129?v=glance&n=283155&s=books&v=glance

Can a billionaire do any better? I doubt it.

A billionaire can certainly afford to buy all of these books. But how much time does she or he have to read?

I suspect that fewer than one person in 100,000 has read all of these books. You can be that one person without being a billionaire.

Even if you cannot afford to buy the books, you should be able to find all of them through your public library.
