Beautiful Living Check List
Good morning, Live Better than a Billionaire-a-Holics!
Are you feeling motivated this morning? I certainly hope so. I know that I am!
Beautiful living. Ah! Now that's something no one can get enough of.
Since I've started writing about beautiful living, I realized that I have yet to provide you with an overall role model and picture of what this can be like. To start that process, today's check list will help you think about what's good in your life . . . and what can be made more beautiful.
1. Restful sleep that leaves you looking forward to the next day with enthusiasm, energy and optimism.
Despite the desirability of such rest, few people routinely enjoy it. There are a number of potential causes. Some are medical (overactive thyroid gland). Some are nutritional (some are helped by melatonin). Some are life style (jet lag and stress). Some are related to bad habits (drinking coffee late at night). Others are connected to a poor choice of bedding (too soft or too hard). Some are unavoidable (grieving for a loved one). Age plays a role (especially hot flashes for menopausal women and night-time urination for older men).
2. A relaxed reaction to whatever comes each day.
Everyone is touchy about some things, but it can be a great quality to let things you don't like slip right off of your awareness. Daily meditation and the Sedona Method can help. Exercise is also remarkably helpful.
3. Feeling energized by the food and beverages you consume.
Foods that simply look and taste good (like a piece of chocolate cake with fudge icing) sometimes will leave you feeling down a little while later as your blood sugar crashes. If you emphasize high Hado foods and Hado water and follow the South Beach diet, you can overcome those problems and be healthier as well.
4. Love and be loved.
Start with giving lots of hugs. Express your love to others in ways that make you feel more loving. Go on to learn how to love strangers and those who have harmed you.
5. Be grateful.
Thank God for each day you receive as you start the day. Notice all the wonderful things that make your life better throughout the day, and thank God each time you notice them. Let others know that you appreciate what they do for you.
6. Express yourself creatively each day.
Each person has unique and lovely qualities. When you make those qualities explicit through writing, speaking or touch, you will feel more complete. Try a blog as one way to capture that remarkable essence.
7. Connect to your friends.
Friendship is one of life's greatest treasures. You find someone who is remarkably complementary to you and who you enjoy spending time with. Build on those fine foundations to make your friends feel appreciated.
8. Finish something that makes you feel accomplished.
We all have places where we produce masterful results. We often feel a remarkable sense of satisfaction when we deliver those results. Give yourself that pleasure every day.
9. Stop and enjoy the moment.
The other day I found a beautiful cardinal eating bits of acorns that my lawn mower had pulverized. I decided to just watch the cardinal until she went away. It was beautiful and timeless joy!
10. Do something new each day that you've always wanted to try.
These activities keep you young and looking forward to life.
11. Give a gift to someone who doesn't expect it.
You'll feel rich and generous when you do. The gift can be something that doesn't cost anything like simply doing a chore without being asked.
12. Be confident that you will succeed.
Optimism fills the half-full glass extremely well and makes the effort of doing so more fun.
How could a billionaire do better? I doubt it.
